Transparency is important to us!

Jambo Bukoba has now introduced its concept to 717 schools in the Kagera region, reaching a total of 482,000 children. Another success for us is that the teachers noticed a much higher attendance rate and the grade average has improved significantly.

We are now training 1,317 Tanzanian teachers to educate their students through sports, games, and HIV / AIDS talks, and to empower girls in particular to protect themselves.

Jambo Bukoba promotes the integration and the self-esteem building of boys and girls alike with so-called “bonanzas”. Through this, different school classes can compete in sports competitions against each other. The winning school receives a school project as a prize, which can be used for renovations or procurement of school supplies.

“Bonanzas” are similar to German national youth games, but are specifically designed to promote the strengths of children and treat all as equals.

To give children a real chance for an education, in 2012 we started helping needy schools with classroom renovations, school furniture purchases and toilet construction.
The prerequisite for this is that the school, parents and teachers participate with 25 percent from their own contribution. This can take the form of active cooperation or the delivery of construction material.
